In September 2009 the Roddy Mc Corley Society embarked on a sponsorship programme with the Sean Ui Mhisteal CLG. The Mitchells, as they are known locally, are one of the oldest Gaelic football and hurling clubs in Belfast and, after many years being cited in various locations across the city, finally put down roots in Poleglass.

They have initiated a comprehensive development programme for the club that will deliver seamless integration of the club and its facilities within the greater Poleglass community. The facilities planned will allow local children and young adults to participate fully in the sporting and cultural ethos of the Mitchells.

The Committee and Members of the Roddy Mc Corley Society had no hesitation in sponsoring aspects of this initiative which will assist the Mitchells in achieving their full potential in a community that has experienced a high degree of social and economic deprivation over recent years.

The Roddy Mc Corley Society wishes the Mitchells continued success over the coming years and acknowledges our delight in this new found association.
